No Gene but symptoms

May 23, 1976

I was tested for the gene and it was negative. I've been to a rheumatologist due to iritis, plantar fasciitis, frozen wrist joint, and other aches and pains.the onset was fast. He just said spondyloarthropathy. I went to a doctor years later and asked for that test and it came back negative. The only thing I have is migraines, Hashimotos Thyroiditis, mixed connected tissue disease and now being treated for pain in my lower back facet joints (arthritis).

husband has AS

May 23, 1976

my husband has AS, we had to ask the doctor to test him for HLA-B27, it was positive. He has taken Humira, Enbral, Cimzia, and is currently taking Cosentyx. His mother is RH negative, he is AB+, I was wondering if that is the genetic connection for his disease.

i am O- and I have psoriasis. I started researching this because of a recent miscarriage (which is how I became aware of my blood type). I learned that when I miscarried my RN positive baby, I was actually experiencing an allergic reaction ... Which I connected to my autoimmune disease, psoriasis.

Rh- negative blood factors share a common sensitivity to the skin as well as heat and light. I only suffer outbreaks when I have allergic reactions. In fact, the only relative treatment I have found is light therapy. And, I am diagnosed with an allergy to warm water - sitting in a hot tub will put me in the E.R.

Rh factor and immunty/longevity

May 20, 1976

I was curious if a lot of us negatives have natural immunity or asymptomatic to measles, mumps or chicken pox/ Mom (O-) never had any of these and brother (B-) and I (O-)couldn't get mumps.

Anyone have similar experiences or knowledge of anything related to longevity and cancer risk. I found an article on O type blood having good longevity, low cancer risk, but some other health issues. However, I couldn't ascertain anything on Rh factor.

We have decent longevity in my family except for smokers. Here's link I found on blood type and longevity:

;id=6836463

rh negs.

I feel that I may have Ankylosin Spondylitis, (AS) because I have had chronic pain in my back and legs since I was a small child. I was supposed to wear a brace but my parent's did not want to have anything look wrong. So I was born with an uneven pelvic bone, which goes along with AS. In medical journals I read it was what causes the uneven pelvic bone, which in turn causes a crooked spine which in turn causes a lot of issues. I am interested in finding out more about this and checking it out I started to believe that I have MS or fibromyalgia. Something is making my legs become weak and I feel I am losing my legs. I need some help, because they are talking about surgery on my lower back, and I am not sure whether or not to have the surgery. So it would be nice to know more about the AS. to see if it relates to my problems. Which so far it seems to relate a lot.

The HLA-B27

Genetic Marker

Do you have it?

What does it mean?

The HLA-B27 Genetic Marker is said to have protective properties that seem to guard against the progression of HIV. It is said, that people with this gene do not have the right proteins for the HIV virus to bind with. The HLA - B27 Marker is most often found in people with O- Blood.

The HLA-B27 Genetic you have it?

HLA-B27 is an inherited gene marker associated with a number of related rheumatic diseases. They share in common, features such as spinal and peripheral arthritis, skin and GI disorders, anterior chamber eye disease, and psoriasis like skin lesions. This gene is found with highest prevalence in patients with ankylosing spondylosis, as well as reactive arthritis, and patients with the combination of peripheral arthritis and either psoriasis and/or inflammatory bowel disease.
